About him:
...the music Salvatore writes and feels close to seems, through his choices and affinities, to be located in a space all his own, at a crossroads between the Mediterranean and the cold seas of northern Europe, between the fascinations of Portugal and the California of a certain refined (and white) jazz derived from bebop.

There are actually two voices on Salvatore Cirillo’s debut album, “Unpretentious,” even though only one person is singing.Whenever Adele Capacchione opens her mouth and lets her angelic, transcendent vocals loose into the air, there is another presence heard either beneath her or singing alongside the same flight path. That entity does not speak with words or even any syllables. It’s actually Cirillo’s piano playing which communicates beauty in a language all its own....
Robert Sutton "Jazztimes review"
...This Italian piano master blends many styles of jazz with emotional and intellectual interludes that set you back in your chair to be overcome by musical moods of many colors. And while being in total command of his playing, he displays more of a heartfelt presence than just a display of technical achievements. I feel that he is an exceptional musician and should be recognized by the entire world.
